Gender-specific anterior cruciate ligament – gait forces

چکیده
The purpose of this study was to investigate gender-based differences in gait biomechanics and evaluate those effects on forces generated the ACL during walking. Estimation gender-specific frontal plane can provide a better understanding biomechanical patterns underlying higher female injury risk. present used sample from Fels Longitudinal Study test hypothesis that there are significant gender-differences loading A cross-sectional 178 participants, including 79 males 99 females kinetics. Females walked at cadence with narrower steps (P < 0.05). No difference observed peak flexion force knee rotation moment between = 0.51 0.07), respectively. Peak abduction significantly lower among than regression equation developed which considers person’s weight height addition could give estimate acting ligament. walking reaches as high 0.44 BW, regardless gender.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Forces in Alpine Skiing.
The purpose of this study was to estimate cruciate ligament forces in Alpine skiing during a movement that has been associated with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. Resultant knee joint forces and moments were obtained from two skiers during a World Cup Downhill race using an inverse dynamics approach and a 2-D bilaterally symmetric system model. It was found that ACL forces were typical...
متن کاملFailure of Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
The present review classifies and describes the multifactorial causes of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery failure, concentrating on preventing and resolving such situations. The article particularly focuses on those causes that require ACL revision due to recurrent instability, without neglecting those that affect function or produce persistent pain. Although primary ACL reconstructio...
متن کاملInfluence of acute anterior cruciate ligament deficiency in gait variability.
The objective of this study was to compare the gait variability of patients with isolated anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficiency (experimental group) with that of healthy individuals (control group). The hypothesis was that the gait variability of the experimental group would be higher than the control group. The experimental group consisted of 20 men with an ACL tear and the control group...
متن کاملGait Asymmetries Persist 1 Year After Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
BACKGROUND After anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR), motivation to return to previous levels of activity is high. Very few studies have used return-to-activity criteria to determine when to permit athletic play. Return-to-activity measures objectively evaluate functional limb symmetry; however, previous biomechanical studies have found gait deviations in these individuals that per...
